Handcrafted cutting boards
in Alpharetta, Georgia

Alpharetta sits right next to Johns Creek, so my workshop is a short drive away. Order an everyday prep board, a closing gift or a set of company gifts directly from me.

Local and handmade

Built for Alpharetta kitchens.

I’m Ishtyaq Qadri (Wosta), and I founded Koshur Chaan in 2015. I make every board for Alpharetta customers in my Johns Creek workshop, one at a time after the order is confirmed. Boards start at $50, and the price depends on wood and dimensions.

Because the workshop is close, it is easy to talk through a board in person and pick it up by appointment.

For a busy weeknight kitchen, a housewarming or a business gift, I plan the size, wood mix and details around how the board will be used.

Alpharetta borders Johns Creek, so picking up at the studio by appointment is easy, and you can see your board before you take it home. A serving board for friends after an evening at Avalon or downtown Alpharetta’s City Center, or a sturdy maple prep board for a new kitchen, are natural fits.

Planning a picnic along the Big Creek Greenway or a night out at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre? A compact walnut board with a handle is easy to carry and easy to clean afterward.

For an Alpharetta home, I would suggest a hard maple prep board paired with a smaller cherry serving board. Maple handles daily chopping for a busy family, and cherry darkens to a warm red-brown over the years, so the pair ages along with the kitchen.

I also make boards for Johns Creek, Atlanta, Buckhead, Duluth and Suwanee, and for customers across Georgia.

Why Alpharetta customers order from me

Direct from the maker

Order directly from the Johns Creek workshop and talk with the person who selects, cuts, sands, and finishes your board.

Close to the workshop

Because the workshop is nearby, Alpharetta orders are easy to discuss and local pickup can be arranged when the board is ready.

Housewarmings, weddings, realtor closings, and company gifts feel more personal when the piece is useful, durable, and made nearby.

Popular boards

Board styles I build most

Edge-grain walnut

Walnut is the board most people ask me for: dark, durable and gentle on a good chef’s knife.

Charcuterie and entertaining

A generous serving board suits Alpharetta’s relaxed dinners, weekend gatherings, and new-home celebrations.

Custom gift boards

Choose the size, hardwood mix, edge profile, and other practical details that fit the recipient and occasion.

Gift ideas

Gifts for Alpharetta friends, family and clients

For Alpharetta customers, popular uses include housewarming gifts, wedding gifts, client gifts, and serving boards for entertaining at home.

I finish and pack each gift board by hand. If you need it by a certain date, picking it up in Johns Creek saves the shipping days.

Board care

Caring for your board

Washing

Warm water and a little dish soap, then dry it right away and let it finish drying on its edge. Keep it out of the dishwasher.

Oiling

A coat of mineral oil once a month keeps the wood from drying out. New boards need a few extra coats in the first weeks.

Refreshing

A light sanding with fine grit brings back a smooth surface. Oil it again afterward and it looks nearly new.

Do you offer local pickup near Alpharetta?

Yes. Pickup is at my Johns Creek workshop by appointment, a short drive from most of Alpharetta. I’ll send the address when we confirm a time.

How quickly can I receive a board in Alpharetta?

At least two weeks after you approve the quote. If you pick it up locally, there is no shipping time to add on.
