Handcrafted cutting boards
in Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta cooks and hosts can order walnut, maple and cherry boards straight from my workshop in Johns Creek, north of the city. I ship within the U.S., and pickup in Johns Creek is by appointment.
Local and handmade
Built for Atlanta kitchens.
I make walnut, maple, and cherry cutting boards for customers throughout Atlanta from my Johns Creek workshop. Each board is made individually after the order is confirmed and takes at least two weeks. Boards start at $50, and the final price depends on wood and dimensions.
My boards work for everyday prep, entertaining, housewarmings and client gifts: anywhere a useful handmade piece means more than something off a shelf.
I build for the way Atlanta cooks: busy weeknight kitchens, long weekend tables, and gifts that stand apart without feeling showy.
Atlanta hosts know a good spread. A long walnut serving board fits a Krog Street Market cheese haul, a Piedmont Park picnic or a Sunday supper in Grant Park, and a hard maple prep board earns its place in an in-town kitchen where counter space is tight.
Intown condo or Westside loft, I can size a board to the counter you actually have. Tell me the neighborhood and the occasion, and I will suggest a wood and size that fit how you cook and entertain.
If I were building one board for an Atlanta kitchen, it would be a striped walnut and maple serving board about 20 inches long, with a juice groove on one side for carving and a flat face on the other for bread and cheese. It works on a crowded intown counter and still looks right on the table when friends come over.
I also make boards for Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Buckhead, Duluth and Suwanee, and for customers across Georgia.
Why Atlanta
Why Atlanta customers order from me
Direct from the maker
Work directly with the maker to settle the size, wood, edge details, and timeline before a single piece is cut.
Made individually to order
Each Atlanta order is built in Johns Creek, then shipped or picked up by appointment.
Gifts that get used
Boards are popular for chef gifts, client thank-yous, new homes, weddings, and hosts who appreciate practical craftsmanship.
Popular boards
Board styles I build most
Edge-grain walnut
Dark, dense and easy on knives. A walnut board handles daily prep in a tight intown kitchen and looks good left out on the counter.
Charcuterie and entertaining
A long hardwood serving board turns appetizers, breads, fruit, or desserts into an easy centerpiece for an Atlanta gathering.
Custom gift boards
Custom dimensions and wood patterns help the board suit a condo kitchen, family home, restaurant table, or business gift.
Gift ideas
Gifts for Atlanta friends, family and clients
Common uses include housewarming gifts, realtor and client gifts, serving boards for gatherings, and custom-size cutting boards in Atlanta home kitchens.
I pack every board for shipping, or you can pick it up at the Johns Creek workshop by appointment.
Board care
Caring for your board
Washing
Hand-wash with warm, soapy water after each use, towel-dry, and stand it on edge. No dishwasher, no soaking.
Oiling
Oil with food-grade mineral oil about once a month, and three or four times in the first month. Skip olive or vegetable oil; it can go rancid.
Refreshing
When knife marks build up, sand lightly with 220-grit along the grain, then re-oil two or three times.
For the full routine, see my Board Care page.
Local FAQ
Common questions from Atlanta customers
Do you offer local pickup near Atlanta?
Yes, by appointment at my workshop in Johns Creek, off GA 400 north of the city. If the drive doesn’t suit you, I can ship the board instead.
How quickly can I receive a board in Atlanta?
Plan on at least two weeks after you approve the quote, plus shipping time if you aren’t picking up. If you need it for a dinner or event on a set date, tell me when you ask for a quote.
Do you make boards for Atlanta real estate closing gifts?
Yes. A walnut or maple board is a gift a new homeowner will use in their first week. I can tailor the size and wood, and make several at once with enough notice.
