Handcrafted cutting boards
in Suwanee, Georgia

Suwanee is a short drive from my Johns Creek workshop. I make hardwood boards for Suwanee cooks, hosts and gift-givers, one at a time.

Local and handmade

Built for Suwanee kitchens.

I’m Ishtyaq Qadri (Wosta). I founded Koshur Chaan in 2015 and make every board myself. Boards start at $50 and vary by wood and dimensions.

As a gift, a hardwood board is useful, not just decorative: it gets used for prep, serving and gatherings for years.

It fits plenty of Suwanee moments, from a new-neighbor welcome to a coach thank-you or a family meal after a long week.

Suwanee is an easy drive from the Johns Creek studio, so pickup by appointment is simple. Families here use their boards hard, from school-night dinners to weekend cookouts, which is why edge-grain hardwood that sands back to new makes sense.

Taking food to a concert at Suwanee Town Center Park or a picnic along the Suwanee Creek Greenway? A compact walnut or cherry serving board is easy to carry, and a matching set makes a good housewarming gift for a new Suwanee neighbor.

For a Suwanee family, I would suggest an edge-grain board in mixed walnut, maple and cherry, sized for everyday use, with a juice groove for weekend cookouts. The stripes hide everyday wear well, and when the surface gets tired, a light sanding brings it back.

I also make boards for Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Atlanta, Buckhead and Duluth, and for customers across Georgia.

Popular boards

Board styles I build most

Edge-grain walnut

Dark walnut hides everyday wear well and is easy on knives, which makes it a good family board.

Charcuterie and entertaining

A long serving board makes casual entertaining easy, whether the table holds snacks after a game or appetizers for a neighborhood gathering.

Custom gift boards

Custom sizing and wood combinations help a gift feel chosen for the person, not pulled from a shelf.

Gift ideas

Gifts for Suwanee friends, family and clients

Common uses include housewarming gifts, coach and teacher thank-you gifts, serving boards for gatherings, and practical everyday cutting boards.

I prepare every board for gifting. Pick it up in Johns Creek, or I can ship it to the recipient.

Board care

Caring for your board

Washing

Hand-wash after each use and dry it on its edge so both faces get air. The dishwasher will crack it.

Oiling

Oil it monthly with mineral oil or board butter. In winter, when the heat is on, every two to three weeks.

Refreshing

If the surface feels rough, sand it lightly along the grain and re-oil. There is no need to replace the board.
